Open carry laws are some of the more controversial laws when it comes to guns.
No one bats an eye when an armed officer of the law steps into a building or is seen wearing their gun out of their car. But as soon as people see someone open carrying on their hip they have instant and unexplainable reactions to a totally legal activity.
Most of the time their initial reaction is one outrage and defiance and they passive aggressively try and shame the person for their decision to remain protected in any and every situation.
That’s exactly what happened when a customer in a diner snapped a picture of man who was open carrying. They sent the picture to a radio state and tried to make the man feel bad about his decision.
And while there were certainly some people who agreed open carry made them feel unsafe…
