There’s a substantial amount of law enforcement in the U.S. who truly believe the best way to defend their community is to tell them to get a gun and learn how to use it.

Most of them however are pretty reserved in soliciting this advice, mainly because they neither have a pulpit from which to do it or they feel the backlash might not be worth it.

Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls tells Eyewitness News the would-be robber demanded money from the homeowner as he pulled into his driveway in the 18300 block of Mossy Creek. That’s in the Mission Sierra subdivision near Richmond.
