Police stations all across the nation are sitting on millions, if not billions of dollars worth of weapons which they’ve seized. These seized weapons are sitting in evidence collection rooms all across the nation doing absolutely nothing.
For many police and sheriff’s this is preferable because they’re happy to not have to deal with these weapons ever again.
For Sheriff Joe Apraio of Maricopa county Arizona he thinks those weapons could be put to better use.
And what’s why he just sold of more than $250,000 worth of seized weapons to arm citizens in his county.
Arizona’s Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office raked in more than a quarter of a million dollars selling off seized firearms and will put the funds toward supplying its volunteer armed posse members with ammo and radio equipment.
