Gun Rights: Louisiana Bill Filed for ‘Constitutional Carry’

If Rep. Barry Ivey, R-Baton Rouge has his way, Louisiana will be the next state on the growing list of states that allow “Constitutional Carry.”

For those not familiar with the relatively new term, Constitutional Carry is both the legal carrying of a handgun without the state requiring a government-issued permit to do so and the belief that the Second Amendment serves as the de facto permit needed to exercise that right.

For many years, the only state that allowed Constitutional Carry was Vermont. In fact, before it was called Constitutional Carry, it was often referred to as “Vermont Carry.”
