‘We can’t leave Africa to deal with this virus on its own’ – the warning today from one of the South African scientists who discovered the virulent new COVID strain.
It is now spreading across the country and onward into neighbouring states.
Close to 42,000 people have died with coronavirus in South Africa, and hospitals are filling up.
