Chris Kyle, the deceased Navy Seal Sniper, is nothing short of an icon in modern American military lore.
After the movie American Sniper came out last year people were finally exposed to the special forces operatives many exploits.
However, the movie also brought new celebrity to the fallen SEAL, and with that celebrity increased scrutiny.
It would appear that scrutiny has now resulted in Kyle being posthumously stripped of some of is medals.

Late Navy SEAL and “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle had fewer awards than he had claimed in his best-selling memoir.
Following an investigation Friday, the Navy re-issued Kyle’s DD-214 discharge paperwork to accurately reflect his accolades and it showed three fewer medals than in the original document and his book. The revisions removed a Silver Star and two Bronze Star with combat valor.
