Captain Sir Tom Moore has died at 100.
He contracted coronavirus and was receiving treatment at Bedford Hospital for pneumonia.
Aged 99, Captain Sir Tom pledged to walk 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday to raise £1,000 for the NHS in a UK national lockdown.
In the end, he raised more than £30m.
Captain Sir Tom was knighted by the Queen at Windsor Castle in July 2020.
