The following excerpt is from an article that originally appeared on Keep and Bear
Traditionally, whenever anyone talked about shooting sports, it was generally considered one was talking about men and their guns. When I used to go with my friend to the trap and skeet range, virtually all of the shooters were men. We went to another shooting competition, known as a Mexican silhouette shoot and all of the shooters were men.
That may have been true not that long ago, but the times and shooters are a changing. More and more women are taking up various shooting sports. In fact, over the past two years, it is estimated that the number of women in shooting sports has doubled.
(Bearing Arms) – Anything that grows shooting sports is a good thing. New shooting sports competitors often mean new shooters. New shooters mean new voters to defend our Second Amendment rights. It’s generally a good thing, as a general rule.
