Students Shot Outside Chicago Elementary School

Two little girls, a 7-year-old and 13-year-old DaKayla Hart, were shot outside of  Joseph Warren Elementary School in Chicago, during their end of the year picnic. The drive-by shooting was around 2 p.m.

The younger girl who was shot took a bullet to the leg and DaKayla was shot in the hand. Both girls are expected to recover as neither of their wounds were life threatening.

Bearing Arms reports:

The two students were outside on the playground when they heard gunshots in the street, and ran into the school for cover.

Police scanner traffic said “numerous casings” were found at the scene with at least one witness describing the shooting as a “drive-by”.

A ‘person of ‘ is in custody and being questioned by investigators.

The wounded students were taken in serious condition to Comer Children’s Hospital and are expected to survive.
