Nebraska Lawmaker Hopeful of Getting Gun Bill Passed

Whenever you read ‘gun bill’ most people tend to read it as ‘gun control bill’, but that’s not the case in Nebraska with Legislative Bill 68. Its purpose is to put all gun regulations, ordinances and laws at the state level rather than at the county or city level.

Proposed by State Sen. Mike Hilgers, a Republican, the bill would make Nebraska uniform when it comes to gun ordinances or laws, instead of a patchwork pattern of county ordinances that could easily make law-abiding gun owners into felons, in violation of local ordinances just by moving from one county to another.

Hilgers said that those who have opposed the bill in the past are sitting down at the table and talking rather of just saying no.
