The firefighter was on the roof of a building in Queens when he fell, sailing 5 floors to the ground.

An eyewitness reportedly told authorities that he appeared to have been attempting to climb into the bucket, from the roof, when he fell.

The 2 alarm fire was burning at Putnam Avenue and Myrtle Avenue when the firefighter reportedly fell five stories.

He was rushed to the hospital with a police escort.
