The state Supreme Court has ruled that a former Franklin County sheriff is immune from a lawsuit by gun owners who claim his office invaded their privacy.( A ruling the state Supreme Court has freed a former Franklin County sheriff from a lawsuit by gun owners who claim he violated their privacy rights. The decision, issued Wednesday in an opinion by Justice Kevin M. Dougherty, grants ex-Sheriff Dane Anthony immunity from the suit by four gun owners identified in court filings as John and Jane Does.
