Armed Gunman Tries to Rob Senior Citizen, Immediately Regrets It

61-year old Darius Summers is a simple mild-mannered musician trying to enjoy his life in Detroit.

On Sunday morning Summers was near his home on Detroit’s west side when he decided to head down to his local gas station/convenience store to pick up a cup of coffee. “I just wanted some coffee, so I walked down here,” Summers told the local media.

Summers was in the store when an armed teenager walked in and noticed that Summers too was armed, having recently received his license to carry concealed. The teenager, Xavier Futrell, must have seen Summers as an easy target because he immediately decided to try to rob the older man.


Futrell stuck his gun into Summers back and demanded that he hand over his firearm. “I’d never been through this. Never shot a gun before. All this is new to me,” Summers said. Summers
